The vegetable and harvesting knife from F. HERDER is a working knife with a straight edge and an angled tip. It is available in seven blade lengths from 9 to 21 cm – from the short kitchen blade to the long harvesting knife.
The edge runs in a single line with no belly. That suits cutting on the board and cutting at the stalk equally: the blade rests along its full length and separates in one pull instead of engaging at a single point only.
The short lengths from 9 to 15.5 cm are the classic vegetable knife for peeling and trimming. The long versions at 18 and 21 cm are intended for harvesting salad and cabbage, where the cut at the stalk has to land in one go.
In 18 and 21 cm the blade is also available with a serrated edge: the toothed edge works its way into fibrous and firm stalk sections without slipping off. The plastic handle is insensitive to moisture and available in green, the 9 cm version additionally in blue.
The blade carries the engraving Friedr. Herder Abr. Sohn, the marking SOLINGEN GERMANY STAINLESS, the spade symbol with the lettering PIKAS as well as the series lettering Don Carlos. Made by F. HERDER in the tradition-rich knife city of Solingen. Made in Germany, with the standard of quality that has distinguished the brand since 1727.
