The filleting knife with a curved blade from F. HERDER is available in 18 and 21 cm. The blade is swept upwards along its entire length and ends in an upswept point.
The curve is the real difference from the straight version: a curved edge only ever rests with a short section during the pull. The pressure is not spread over the whole blade but concentrated – and that separates with less force.
The upswept point turns away from the surface when working flat. When taking off close to skin or bone it therefore stays out of the cut.
18 cm is the more agile size, 21 cm draws longer cuts in one pass. The green plastic handle is insensitive to moisture and easy to clean.
The blade carries the engraving Friedr. Herder Abr. Sohn, the marking SOLINGEN GERMANY STAINLESS, the spade symbol with the lettering PIKAS as well as the series lettering Don Carlos. Made by F. HERDER in the tradition-rich knife city of Solingen. Made in Germany, with the standard of quality that has distinguished the brand since 1727.
